About the ProjectThe SRLM package allows one central server to monitor multiple systems over a network. All Transmissions over the network are encrypted and authenticated to provide safe communications between the central server and the distributed systems. Log files on any given system are collected, packaged, and sent off across the network to the server. The server collects all incoming packages, stores them in an archive, and analyzes each log file. Logs monitored and triggers are configured from a Java GUI. When log files are analyzed, certain keywords or regular expressions are used to search the log file and, if found, the Java GUI will notify the user. The Java GUI is also used to see what systems have reported logs and how recently. Any system's log files can also be viewed with the Java GUI. |
